Act to Solve Climate Crisis: Achieve Peace with Nature by Elegant Simplicity

Meet Satish Kumar, the Author of Elegant Simplicity

At age 26, Satish Kumar began his pilgrimage journey for peace and disarmament of nuclear weapons in the world. After walking over 8,000 miles across continents and experienced the workings of our modern civilisation, he realised that besides military war, humanity is also at war with Nature. Unless we make peace with the planet, inner peace and world peace will remain elusive.

Therefore, he became not only a peace activist, but also an eco-activist, dedicating his life for peace and sustainable movement. Through the writing of Elegant Simplicity, he extracts his lifelong experience and wisdom to promote inner and outer simplicity in order to achieve the well-being of soil, soul and society. From that human can live a life of environmental stability, spiritual fulfillment, and social justice. 

The original book Elegant Simplicity was written in 2019 and now it has been translated and published in Traditional Chinese. We cordially invite Satish during his visit to Hong Kong to share about his view on how to act against climate crisis. Representatives from Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) and  Partnerships for Community Development (PCD) will also join the discussion and share about their vision on achieving green living in Hong Kong. Together they will discuss the possibility of change in the society.
